Managing your Automations
Automations help you send the right message at the right time without manual work. But they still need to be managed. If left unchecked, they can send outdated content or continue running when they shouldn’t.
Managing your automations keeps your campaigns accurate and your messaging aligned with your current goals.
For more detailed setup guidance, you can refer to How to Setup Automation
Why managing automations matters
Saves time
Once set up, automations run on their own. You don’t need to repeat the same tasks.
Improves accuracy
Pausing or updating automations helps prevent sending outdated or incorrect content.
Enhances engagement
You can adjust your messaging based on timing, behaviour, or campaign changes.
Gives flexibility
You can stop automations when needed, such as during updates, testing, or campaign changes.
How to pause an automation
If you need to stop an automation for a while:
- Find the automation you want to manage
- Click the gear icon next to it
- Select PAUSE

The automation will stop sending emails straight away.
How to re-enable an automation
To start a paused automation again:
- Click the gear icon next to the PAUSED AUTOMATION
- Select REENABLE SENDING

The automation will continue running based on its current setup.
Important note on editing automations
If you need to make bigger changes, like adding new steps or changing the workflow, you can’t edit the automation directly.
You will need to:
- Pause the current automation
- Create a new one with the updated setup
This avoids issues with contacts already inside the automation and keeps everything running correctly.
Automations work best when they are reviewed and managed regularly. By pausing when needed and creating new versions for changes, you keep your emails accurate and relevant. This helps you avoid mistakes and keeps your communication clear for your subscribers.
